# Balances

> Track payments, refunds, disputes, fees, taxes, and payouts across your USD, GBP, and EUR wallets with the Balances ledger in Dodo Payments.

## Introduction

The **Balances** page shows every change to your wallet balances: payments, refunds, disputes, fees, taxes, and payouts. Use it to see what you earned, what was deducted, and what remains for your next payout. Open it from **Payouts → Balances** in the dashboard.

The page shows your **Total Balance** in USD, next to a tile for each wallet with that wallet's balance. Select a wallet tile to show only that wallet's entries in the ledger. Below it, the ledger table lists each entry with its **Transaction Type**, **Transaction Amount**, **Transaction ID**, **Previous Wallet Balance**, **Updated Wallet Balance**, and **Date**. You can filter the ledger and download a report of the entries you select.

## Wallet Structure

Each business account has **three native wallets**, one for each supported payout currency:

| EUR Wallet | EUR |

### Wallet Logic

Each sale is **credited to one wallet**, chosen from the **customer's payment currency** and **billing country**. The routing is designed for **payment processor efficiency**, **lower transaction fees**, and **lower currency conversion charges**.

## Balance Ledger

Each wallet has an **independent ledger** that records its activity in that wallet's currency. The **All** view combines the ledgers of every wallet into one history.

### Filters and Navigation

* **Currency Filter:** Shows the entries of one wallet (USD, INR, EUR, or GBP), or **All** wallets together.
* **Event Type Filter:** Shows only the transaction types you select.
* **Date Filter and Report:** Narrows the ledger to a date range, and downloads the matching entries as a report.

### Transaction Types

The Balances ledger records transaction types such as the following. For the full list of `event_type` values, see [List Balance Ledger Entries](/api-reference/balance-ledger/list-ledger-entries).

| Transaction Type | Symbol | Description |
| - | - | - |
| **Payment** | Credit (+) | Successful customer payment |
| **Refund** | Debit (-) | Amount returned to the customer |
| **Refund Reversal** | Credit (+) | A reversed refund, returned to your wallet |
| **Dispute** | Debit (-) | Disputed amount, deducted and held while the dispute is open |
| **Dispute Reversal** | Credit (+) | Disputed amount returned after a dispute resolves in your favor |
| **Tax** | Debit (-) | Tax collected on a payment, which Dodo Payments remits |
| **Tax Reversal** | Credit (+) | Tax returned when a payment is refunded or a dispute is reversed |
| **Payment Fees** | Debit (-) | Dodo Payments transaction fees on a payment |
| **Refund Fees** | Debit (-) | Fee for processing a refund |
| **Refund Fees Reversal** | Credit (+) | Refund fee returned when a refund is reversed |
| **Dispute Fees** | Debit (-) | Fee for handling a dispute, not returned when you win |
| **Dispute Fees Reversal** | Credit (+) | Dispute fee cancelled, for example when a **Visa RDR Fee** replaces it |
| **Visa RDR Fee** | Debit (-) | Fee for a dispute resolved through Visa Rapid Dispute Resolution |
| **Deflection Fees** | Debit (-) | Fee for a dispute prevented before it was filed |
| **Deflection Fees Reversal** | Credit (+) | Deflection fee returned to your wallet |
| **BYOP Fee** | Debit (-) | [BYOP](/features/byop) billing fee on a payment routed through your own processor |
| **Moderation Fees** | Debit (-) | Fee for each full block of [moderation](/features/moderation) screens |
| **Payout** | Debit (-) | Amount transferred to your bank account |
| **Payout Fees** | Debit (-) | Fee deducted from a payout |
| **Payout Reversal** | Credit (+) | Payout amount returned after a failed payout |
| **Payout Fees Reversal** | Credit (+) | Payout fee returned after a failed payout |
| **Dodo Credits** | Credit (+) | Credit issued to your wallet by Dodo Payments |
| **Adjustment** | Credit (+) or Debit (-) | Manual correction made by Dodo Payments |

#### Additional Fields

* **Transaction Amount** and **Date:** The value of the entry, and the date and time it was recorded.
* **Transaction ID:** Unique identifier for tracking and support requests.
* **Previous Wallet Balance** and **Updated Wallet Balance:** The wallet balance before and after the entry.

## Total Balance

The **Total Balance** shows a **consolidated, indicative amount** of your **USD, GBP, and EUR** wallet balances after conversion to USD.

  **Indicative Display:** The displayed amount is **for reference only**. The final payout amount depends on the exchange rate at the time of transfer.

## Conclusion
